Dogs must be on a leash at all times unless they are in a signed, designated off-leash area.
Off-leash areas, time-restricted areas and areas where dogs are prohibited are listed in the council's Animal Control Area Register and its off-leash dog areas map.
Dogs must be registered and microchipped, and must wear a collar with the registration tag in public.
Carry waste bags and pick up after your dog. On-the-spot fines apply for not disposing of dog waste properly.
Special rules apply in designated koala areas, and dogs must be kept from harming or contacting koalas.
