Greater Geelong City Council dog rules
- All public open space, parks, reserves and other Council land is on leash unless signs say otherwise.
- In on-leash areas, leads (including retractable leads) must be kept to about 2 metres when near people, wildlife, cyclists or other dogs.
- Dogs may be off leash and supervised only in designated or signed areas. You must carry a leash and your dog must stay in sight and earshot so it can be recalled at any time.
- Dogs declared menacing, dangerous or restricted breed must not be walked off lead.
- Dogs must not enter water habitats with wildlife or beach nesting birds, and are excluded from sporting playing areas while organised sport is on.
